Whampoa Club: The Sweets
"Homemade water melon and sour plum sorbet" composed of icy chunks of watermelon
with sour plum that was so bitter and sour that it would have been inedible
except for the numbing sweetness of the watermelon.

"Peanut pastry with chocolate dusk" reminded both of us of the hard, dried out Joyva Halvah
that seemed to be at the cashier of every Jewish delicatessen when we were young.
It tasted like dust (not dusk).    Inedible.
