Bakong - West Gopura
Bakong is the first significant temple-mountain, dedicated in 881 c.e. It's in Roulos, 10 km or so east of Siem Reap on highway 6 to Phnom Penh. The road is paved this far, but not all the way to Phnom Penh. This is the west gopura, or entrance pavilion, with bas reliefs worn down by the ages.
