Angkor Wat - Theravada Buddhas in the Main Tower After the conversion of the religion from Hinduism and then Mahayana Buddhism to Theravada Buddhism, statues of the God Kings were replaced with statues of Buddha. These are in a false doorway in the highest, central tower of Angkor Wat.
